The Land of Enchantment

A project created for ATL499 (Memory House: Sound and Video Installation Art) taught by Kaz PS and Heather Christian.

My portion of the installation explored my childhood memory of long road trips every summer, driving from Indiana to New Mexico to visit my extended family. The soundtrack of these road trips was always the Harry Potter books on tape and radio hits, and the video captures a rolling, evolving landscape as seen through a child's eyes. This moving landscape was projected behind 4 performers who sang along with the radio hits, and upon the arrival in New Mexico, the projection fabric was lowered to reveal the warmth of a dining table, evoking the comfort and emotional release of arriving home.
